PCB Nationally Ranked as Top Consumer/Mortgage Lender

PCB Nationally Ranked as Top Consumer/Mortgage Lender

PCB is proud to be nationally ranked by the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA) as a Top Consumer/Mortgage Lender based on 2022 performance. PCB ranked 13th among peers of the same asset size across the country.

Using data from the FDIC, the ICBA calculates a lender score out of 100 for each community bank. The score combines the average of the bank’s percentile rank for lending concentration and for loan growth over the past year and is then adjusted for any charge-offs. Out of 100, PCB scored a strong 90.6.

PCB experienced extremely strong loan growth in 2022, and in the Consumer/Mortgage category specifically, the portfolio grew $79M over the prior year.

William A. Loving, President and CEO, stated, “Being nationally recognized as a ‘top lender’ is an honor, and it is a reflection of the hard work of our team members. Our goal is to build strong relationships within our communities through fair products, excellent service, and active volunteerism. Helping families finance their first car or dream home is at the heart of what we do. I cannot thank our customers enough for their trust in PCB. Their support allows us to continue serving our community.”

In addition to the ICBA ranking for lending, PCB was recently voted “Best Bank”, “Best Mortgage Company”, and “Best Company to Work For” in the Daily News Record’s Best of the Valley competition. The institution won Gold for “Best Home Mortgage” and “Best Ag Lender” and Silver for “Best Bank” in Harrisonburg Radio Group’s Best of the Valley contest.

“We have received local, customer-voted recognition in 2022 and 2023, and this data-based national ranking is proof that our community banking model is recognized and appreciated in our markets,” said Neil Hayslett, Executive Vice President, Chief Banking Officer. “The loan growth we experienced was strategic, and it would not have been possible without our customer-driven team of bankers. Most importantly, we are continually thankful for the support of our customers who believe in who we are and what we do.”
